A cooperation meeting on cybersecurity was held between Sakarya University (SAU) and Azerbaijani officials.
During the visit, which was attended by Davud Rustamov, Head of the Azerbaijani Cybersecurity Operations Center, Elshad Nasirov, Head of the State Security Service Academy, Kürşat Oğuzhan Akıncı, President of the Blackbox Security Think Tank, and Caner Köroğlu, CEO of Branddefense, potential collaborations were discussed.
During the visit, Davud Rustamov and Elshad Nasirov had the opportunity to examine the university’s cybersecurity infrastructure and projects on-site.
Prof. Dr. İbrahim Özçelik, Coordinator of CENTERSAU and Advisor to the Rector, and Faculty Member of the SAU Faculty of Engineering, provided the Azerbaijani guests with information about the university’s current projects and studies in the field of cybersecurity.
The visit also addressed the Critical Infrastructures Security Testbed, which plays a significant role in research and developments for the security of critical infrastructures.
SAU Rector Prof. Dr. Hamza Al emphasized the importance of strengthening collaborations in the field of cybersecurity between Turkey and Azerbaijan and increasing cooperation among member states of the Organization of Turkic States.
Rustamov stated that Sakarya University’s work in this field is impressive and explained that such collaborations would enhance the cybersecurity capacities of both countries.
Nasirov stressed the importance of strategic cooperation between the two countries, stating that such visits and collaborations would contribute to regional security.
During the discussions, Kürşat Oğuzhan Akıncı and Caner Köroğlu provided information about common threats in the field of cybersecurity and the strategies developed to counter them.
The visit concluded with the parties expressing their wishes to take joint steps in cybersecurity and to establish closer collaborations in the future.
