Samsung has yet to extend the One UI 7 update beyond its latest Galaxy S25 series, leaving many users frustrated. While the Galaxy S24 lineup has been the primary focus of the beta program, recent indications suggest that Samsung is preparing to launch One UI 7 beta for its 2024 foldable devices, the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Galaxy Z Flip 6. This move could signal an expansion of the update to more devices soon.
According to Android tipster Tarun Vats, One UI 7 beta builds for the Fold and Flip series have appeared on Samsung’s test servers in Europe and India. Additionally, an official One UI 7 beta forum page has surfaced on Samsung’s community website for the 2024 foldables. Vats also noted that similar beta program pages were created for other devices, such as the Galaxy S23, long before an official rollout, suggesting that the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Z Flip 6 beta launch may be imminent.
While the emergence of beta program details is promising, it does not necessarily mean that a stable release is just around the corner. Samsung has been fine-tuning One UI 7 for the Galaxy S24 series for months, now on its fifth beta version. The same extended testing phase may apply to the Z Fold 6 and Z Flip 6, meaning a public rollout could still be weeks or even months away.
For owners of these premium foldables, the delay is far from ideal. Given the high price tags of the Z Fold 6 and Z Flip 6, users expected faster software updates, and some have voiced their frustration on Samsung’s community forums. The prolonged wait raises concerns about Samsung’s prioritization of its foldable lineup compared to traditional flagship models.
Despite these concerns, the potential launch of a One UI 7 beta program for the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Galaxy Z Flip 6 is a step in the right direction. It suggests that Samsung is working toward expanding its latest software experience to more devices, even if the final release remains uncertain.
