National Defence University Hosted the Cybersecurity and AI Conference

The Cybersecurity and Artificial Intelligence Conference, held under the auspices of the Presidency of Defence Industries, was successfully organized on May 20–21, 2025 in Ankara. The event was hosted by the National Defence University – Turkish Military Academy in collaboration with the Turkey Cyber Security Cluster and the Defence Industry Artificial Intelligence Competency Cluster.

Throughout the two-day conference, leading institutions operating in Turkey’s defense industry, along with representatives from public and private sectors, universities, and research organizations, came together to explore the strategic role of cybersecurity and artificial intelligence technologies in the defense domain. The program featured technical presentations, panel sessions, and expert talks that provided attendees with insights into the latest developments in the field.

The event also saw strong participation from students of the National Defence University – Turkish Military Academy. The enthusiasm and engagement of young military cadets with emerging technologies highlighted the importance of developing skilled human capital in these critical areas. Beyond knowledge sharing, the conference also laid the groundwork for new institutional collaborations.

Kürşat Oğuzhan Akıncı of Blackbox Security joined the panel titled “The Role of Military Personnel in Cybersecurity” as a speaker. During the session, he shared his valuable insights on the training of security forces against digital threats, the importance of cybersecurity strategies within military structures, and the human element in AI-supported defense systems.
